From Dependence to Dignity
At Mission Without Borders, we believe that our journey with families does not end when a family has reached the end of their sponsorship period. Often, families have made incredible progress but need one final helping hand to become truly self-sufficient and able to thrive independently.
This is why we started our Self-Sufficiency Ministry.
Through practical projects and ongoing support, we equip families with opportunities to generate income, develop skills, and build sustainable futures. Whether through small businesses, farming initiatives, vocational training, or other income-generating projects, our goal is to show God's love by empower families to move from dependence to dignity.
But these projects offer more than economic support.
Empowering Families, Transforming Communities
As families become self-sufficient, the impact often extends beyond the household. Families begin helping neighbours, encouraging others, and contributing to the wellbeing of their communities.
What starts as an investment in one family often becomes a catalyst for wider change.
God's Love in Action
At the heart of every self-sufficiency project is the Gospel.
As families experience practical support, they also encounter God's love through local churches and Mission Without Borders staff. Many grow in their faith, become active in their churches, and begin sharing the hope of Christ with others.
Some even go on to serve as church leaders, volunteers, and pastors. Our prayer is that all the people we work with comes to know Christ.
More Than a Project
In communities that have struggled under years of poverty, hopelessness, and the lingering effects of communist-era thinking, self-sufficiency projects bring renewed purpose and possibility. They demonstrate that change is possible, that dignity can be restored, and that God has not forgotten them.
Every self-sufficiency project is more than an economic opportunity. It is an investment in people, families, communities, and the Kingdom of God.
