Day 7 - Faith Anchored on Christ
Renewed Within: Reflection SaturdayWill Your Faith Stand the Storm?
Life often brings storms that test our faith. Just as Jesus’ disciples experienced deep doubt when He lay in the grave, we too face moments when faith feels fragile, and hope seems lost.
Jesus warned us that life will have challenges, times when fear and uncertainty press in. Yet in His teaching, He gives us a clear picture of what enduring faith looks like: a life built on the solid foundation of His word and person.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”Matthew 7:24-25 ESV
Storms come, rain, floods, winds, but the foundation matters. When we hear Jesus’ words and obey them, our faith will stand through trials. This isn’t about having perfect strength, but about trusting the One who is our Rock.
James reminds us that blessings come to those who remain steadfast under trial:
“Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.”James 5:11 ESV
Fear may come. Doubt may whisper. But God’s purpose and mercy never fail.
Today ask yourself:
Is my foundation in Christ alone, or on my own hopes and efforts?
When trials hit, will I stand firm in the Lord?
Let us choose to build on Jesus, the true foundation who holds us steady in every storm.
Loaves of Love
In Danes, Romania, the church’s Bread Oven Project brings more than food—it shares hope. Families facing poverty receive not only warm bread but also encouragement, prayer, and community. Working alongside Mission Without Borders, the project reminds us that faith anchored in Christ reaches beyond words, transforming lives and meeting both spiritual and physical needs.
