Ukraine Children in State Homes
Provide food, care, and spiritual support to vulnerable children in Ukraine’s State homes. Your gift brings dignity, hope, and God’s love to those most in need.“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”Psalm 82:3
Loving the fatherless
Showing God’s love to vulnerable children has always been at the heart of Mission Without Borders’ work in Eastern Europe.
Thanks to generous sponsors and donors like you, tens of thousands of children once living in orphanages and institutions have experienced hope, care, and a brighter future.
In recent years, as children’s institutions have been phased out across Europe, we’ve focused on supporting children in poverty within their own communities. But the war in Ukraine has changed everything. While some children returned to families, others remain in homes due to special physical or educational needs—and they still desperately need our help.
Your gift today can ensure a vulnerable child receives food, warmth, and the knowledge that they are not forgotten. Will you help?

Supporting children in need since the fall of Communism
Under Communism, the state was seen as the best parent—yet many children in institutions were not orphans, but were placed there due to poverty and social pressure.
Even after the fall of Communism, countless children lived in harsh, inhumane orphanage conditions. Mission Without Borders responded with urgent material and emotional support through our child sponsorship programme, helping thousands in Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine.
While individual child sponsorship in Moldova and Romania’s state homes ended in 2019, and was due to end in Ukraine by 2025, the war has left children in state care at greater risk of malnutrition and isolation.

That’s why we continue to support them—now providing regular support to each home as a whole—covering food, clothing, hygiene, and emotional and spiritual care—benefiting every child living there.
Supporting children without families in Ukraine
Each of the 16 State homes in Ukraine included in this project – housing about 2,000 children in total – will receive regular support to ensure children have access to nutritious meals, clean clothing, hygiene items, and a safe environment.
In addition to addressing physical needs, our Christian outreach teams provide love and encouragement to those in need. We offer children Christian literature and invite them to participate in Sunday School, Bible Correspondence Courses, and joyful celebrations such as birthday parties, summer camps, and day camps. These activities help children grow in their understanding of God's love and care for them.

Support children in Ukraine's state homes—your donation today brings meals, joy, and the message of God's love to their lives.
The future of supporting children without families in Ukraine
Through your generosity, Mission Without Borders has reached tens of thousands of children over the past 25 years. Together, we've provided food, education, Bible lessons, summer camps, puppet shows, birthday celebrations, and—most importantly—love.
The impact is lasting. Many of the children we've supported have grown into adults who know the Lord and live fulfilling lives, all because someone cared enough to reach out to them.
But our mission is far from over. With your continued help, we will continue to visit these children, walking alongside them, and provide the material, emotional, and spiritual support they so desperately need.
Make a regular donation today to support vulnerable children in Ukraine—and receive updates on the difference your gift makes.
