Help a Child Learn
Help vulnerable children learn, grow, and find hope through our After school support and careNo child should reach fourth grade unable to read or write — yet across Eastern Europe, many children growing up in poverty are falling desperately behind.
Homes marked by neglect, hunger, and trauma leave children without the support they need to learn, thrive, or even feel safe.
Your support can change that.
Mission Without Borders partners with local churches to run After school programmes that welcomes vulnerable children five days a week.
Here, they receive help with reading and writing, encouragement from caring mentors, hot meals, Bible lessons, and a place filled with attention and warmth — everything missing from their daily lives.
Vlad, a 10-year-old boy from Ukraine who loves coming to the programme, was close to dropping out of school.
His parents struggle with addiction, and he spent most days alone, scared, and discouraged. He didn’t know several letters and felt ashamed that the other children were ahead of him.
Volunteer Alisa shared, “At home, he has no one to take care of him. Here, he gets hugs, he talks, he laughs — and he learns.”
Vlad said, “I made friends here. I learned to write letters and read. Alisa is my best friend. When I’m older, I want to be a volunteer too.”
This is the power of a safe place.
Children who once felt invisible begin to open up, grow in confidence, and believe they can learn. They receive the care and role models they’ve never had at home. Slowly, their lives begin to change.
Your support keeps this ministry running — and helps us reach even more children longing for safety, learning, and hope.
R300 will feed seven children for one day at the after-school programme.
